FAQs

Got a Question? Our frequently asked questions just might have the answer.

Is it safe?

We have taken great care to ensure that the activities we run have been assessed, our equipment is certified and regularly checked, our team trained and we have taken steps to ensure that you have fun without getting hurt but there are risks with any adventure activity. Our activities are physically challenging and persons with medical issues are strongly advised to contact their doctor before engaging in our activities.

Are activities supervised?

Yes!  All of our activities are fully supervised by our trained team of Garda (Irish Police) vetted instructors.

Is there First Aid on site?

Our Reception Centre has a comprehensive first aid kit. Site vehicles also have first aid kits and our team of instructors are trained in Occupational First Aid.

Is Eile Mental Activity Park Insured?

Eile Mental holds public liability insurance. Customers can request a copy of our insurance by contacting us.

What happens if I have a Pre-existing Medical Condition?

Serious pre-existing medical conditions must be disclosed to Eile Mental before undertaking our activities. Our team are first aid trained (but they are not medically qualified) and as such, cannot assess a participants suitability for our activities.  It remains your responsibility to undertake such an assessment prior to starting any activity. Eile Mental recommends you contact your doctor for further advice and obtain permission.

Can I do the Activities if I’m Pregnant?

Eile Mental strongly recommends that pregnant women do not take part in activities. However, we do not discriminate and ultimately the choice is yours. We are not medical experts and therefore suggest that you seek advice from your doctor on the matter.

Can I do the activities if I’m wearing a cast?

Our activities are physically challenging. Again… we’re not doctors or medical professionals but Eile Mental highly recommends you consult a medical professional and obtain their permission before undertaking any of our activities.

What facilities are available for guests with disabilities?

Unfortunately due to the nature of the activities and the terrain, there are very limited wheelchair accessible activities and currently no wheelchair accessible toilet facilities on site. However, Eile Mental tries to accommodate persons with disabilities whenever possible. Simply contact us to discuss your requirements and we will try our best to accommodate you.

Will children be in the park on their own?

Younger children should be supervised by an adult or member of our team at all times. Older children (40 years +) may sometimes be left on their own.

Lost Children/ Parents

We haven’t lost anyone yet. Our activities are for ages 10 and over. Parents and guardians are asked to supervise younger children before and after activities, until an Eile Mental team member either assumes responsibility or is relieved by a parent or guardian. Parents, we assume, won’t get lost… hopefully.

Smoking Policy

Our smoking policy? It’s bad for you and for those around you but if you must, there are discreet smoking areas available.

Alcohol Policy

Eile Mental has a 0% tolerance approach to alcohol. No alcohol is allowed on site and intoxicated customers will be refused permission to participate in activities and will not be refunded. This policy is to ensure our customers and our team member’s safety and to enable all participants to enjoy our activities in a fun and friendly setting without disruption.

Do I have to sign any forms?

Customers will be asked to register their details in case of a problem or incident. Group organisers will be asked to register on behalf of their group.

If customers wish to receive photos of their activities or details of upcoming events and special offers via email, they can indicate this during registration.

What do I need to wear?

You must wear secure, closed-toe footwear e.g. runners, hiking/combat boots or Wellingtons (not flip flops or Crocs and something with ankle support is best) and long shorts/trousers. We advise comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting dirty or wet and rainwear is highly recommended. In the interests of safety, please remove all jewellery, loose clothing (e.g. scarves), mobile phones etc. and tie back long hair before undertaking activities.

We are an outdoor activity provider and we run our activities in almost all weathers. Like the U.S. postal service, neither snow nor rain nor heat will stop us. However Red Weather Warnings from Met Eireann generally does the trick. In this instance we will close the park, notify our customers and make alternative arrangements for those who have booked activities.

We understand that life can throw you a curve ball every now and then. Bookings are refundable (minus a small handling charge) up to seven days before your activities are due to start. However, less than seven days notice but more than three days notice and only half will be refunded. Less than three days or customers who do not show on the day will forfeit the entirety of their booking fee.
